Faculty of Agricultural Social Sciences

Faculty of Agricultural Social Sciences emerged as a faculty in 1984 after bifurcation of Faculty of Agriculture into three faculties.

Various departments of this faculty have been offering graduate and postgraduate degree programs since 1975, when the university was defunct Sindh Agriculture College.

The Faculty plays an important role not only in offering degree programs in various disciplines but also in supporting academic programs of other faculties by offering compulsory courses in English, Statistics, Pakistan Studies and Islamic Studies.

Dean Faculty of Agricultural Social Sciences

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Faculty of Agricultural Social Sciences, Sindh Agriculture University, Tandojam. The Faculty has been playing a significant role in academic development by offering graduate and postgraduate degree programs in different disciplines of agricultural social sciences.

The Faculty is committed to producing skilled graduates, researchers and professionals who can contribute effectively to agricultural economics, rural development, statistics, extension education, communication skills and social research.

Our departments provide quality education, research opportunities and academic support to students of different faculties through compulsory and specialized courses. With computer laboratory facilities, library resources and experienced faculty members, we aim to create a strong academic and research environment for students and scholars.

We are continuously working to strengthen teaching, research, innovation and community-oriented learning so that our students may serve society and contribute to the development of agriculture and rural communities.

Role of the Faculty

Academic Contribution

The Faculty contributes to academic development by offering degree programs in social sciences and supporting other faculties through compulsory courses in English, Statistics, Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies.

Degree Programs

The first four departments are degree-awarding departments, while English, Islamic Studies and Pakistan Studies mainly offer compulsory courses in their respective fields for all faculties of the University.

Academic Programs

B.Sc. in Agribusiness Management

The Department of Agricultural Economics has recently started B.Sc. in Agribusiness Management.

M.S. in Agribusiness Management

The Department of Agricultural Economics also offers M.S. in Agribusiness Management as an off-campus program.

Ph.D. Programs

Department of Agricultural Economics and Department of Agricultural Education Extension & Short Courses are also offering doctoral programs.

Computer Laboratory

The Faculty has a computer laboratory with internet facility for faculty staff and students.

Faculty Library

A library has been established to cater the academic and research needs of scholars, scientists and students of the faculty.
