Institute of Food Sciences and Technology

The Institute of Food Sciences and Technology was established in April 2007 through the up-gradation of the Department of Food Technology, which was commenced in 1996 and initiated its academic activities in 1998.

The establishment of the Institute brought measurable improvements in quality education, practical training, and research in food-related fields. At present, the Institute offers a four-year B.Sc. (Hons.) degree in Food Sciences and Technology, following a uniform curriculum as per the policy of the Higher Education Commission.

The Institute focuses on food safety, preservation, processing, packaging, distribution, dairy products, postharvest technology, and the development of safe, nutritious, and wholesome food products.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Institute of Food Sciences and Technology. The Institute is dedicated to providing quality education, practical training, and research-based learning in the rapidly growing field of food sciences and technology.

Our aim is to equip students with scientific knowledge, technical skills, professional ethics, and innovative thinking so they can meet the emerging challenges of the food industry and contribute effectively to food safety, nutrition, value addition, and national development.

Through strong academic programs, modern laboratory facilities, and industry linkages, we strive to produce competent graduates who can serve society, strengthen the food sector, and contribute to a healthier and more sustainable future.

The Institute offers a four-year degree program designed to develop professional knowledge and practical skills in food science, food processing, preservation, packaging, quality control, food safety, and product development.
